The meeting was attended by more than 50 arbitrators among which were foreign arbitrators from Finland, Poland and Moldova as well as Ukrainian arbitrators from Kyiv, Kharkov, Odessa and Khmelnitsky.
In his welcoming remarks, the President of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Gennadiy Chyzhykov said that the ICAC and MAC at the Ukrainian CCI by years of functioning have proved their competence, efficiency and independence, and the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has always had and will continue to facilitate those arbitration institutions. According to him the ICAC at the Ukrainian CCI has long ago become a recognizable Ukrainian brand, and the main task of the management and the arbitrators is to develop this brand and to enhance its competitiveness, putting it on the same stage with well-known and authoritative arbitration institutions in Western Europe and Asia.
The President of the ICAC and MAC at the Ukrainian CCI Mykola Selivon made a report about the results of activities of arbitration institutions for 11 months of this year and emerging trends. Especially, Mykola Selivon stressed the new challenges faced by arbitration institutions, the vectors of their development, the creation of proarbitral climate in the country, the interaction with the judiciary and the problematic points related to the reform of the procedural legislation of Ukraine. In light of the foregoing, given the fact that Recommendatory lists of arbitrators of the ICAC and MAC at the Ukrainian CCI were significantly expanded by the inclusion of foreign and young Ukrainian lawyers in the field of arbitration, especially important is the succession of the generations, the strengthening of the principle of impartiality and independence of arbitrators in disputes, preservation of traditionally high professional level and moral arbitrator image, said Mykola Selivon.
A key issue on the agenda was the discussion of draft of new Rules of the ICAC and MAC at the 
Ukrainian CCI. All arbitrators were provided with opportunity to make their suggestions and comments to the drafts. The President of the ICAC and MAC at the Ukrainian CCI expressed gratitude to Tetiana Zakharchenko – co-author of draft of new Rules, as well as Tamara Abova, Nina Vilkova, Sergiy Voitovych, Volodymyr Grynchyshyn, Vasyl Gumeniuk, Inna Yemelianova, Jean-Michel Jacquet, Volodymyr Ivashchenko, Andrii Klymchuk, Olexandr Krupchan, Leena Lehtinen, Markian Malskyy, Vasyl Marmazov, Nikolay Melnykov, Kostiantyn Pilkov, Oleg Podtserkovny, Manfred Heider and Alexandre Khrapoutski for their contribution in the discussion of these drafts and the preparation of written suggestions. In general, the arbitrators positively evaluated submitted draft of new Rules of the ICAC and MAC at the Ukrainian CCI, the final version of which, after discussion of all proposals submitted by the arbitrators, will be brought before Presidiums the ICAC and MAC at the Ukrainian CCI for approval.
The final, but not less important issue on the agenda was the discussion of preparation for the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the ICAC at the Ukrainian CCI. In the framework of celebration the President of the ICAC and MAC announced holding of International Arbitration Readings in Memory of Academician Igor Pobirchenko, preparation of publication of awerds of the ICAC for the period of 2011-2016, a collection of articles of arbitrators, the special issue of the journal «Law of Ukraine» and a number of other activities for arbitration and the business community.
