On 4 November 2022 the ICAC will hold THE IXth INTERNATIONAL ARBITRATION READINGS IN MEMORY OF THE ACADEMICIAN IGOR POBIRCHENKO
Having operated under the martial law for over half a year, the ICAC does not only demonstrate strong institutional sustainability, continuing to timely and efficiently consider cases, but also reconfirms the status of a leading professional forum for shaping the vision of international arbitration development in Eastern Europe.
During the most challenging year in the history of Ukraine the ICAC traditionally hosts THE IXth INTERNATIONAL ARBITRATION READINGS IN MEMORY OF THE ACADEMICIAN IGOR POBIRCHENKO.
The theme of this year’s Readings is “Arbitration in Ukraine in the newfangled security landscape”
The Agenda outline will cover the following issues:
- Legal front: the functioning of arbitration at wartime.
- Peculiarities of case management in the light of new wave of sanctions, in particular against russia and belarus.
- A sanctioned party to an arbitration: Is this a force majeure event? What are the impacts on case consideration?
- Expanding the range of the ICAC services. The prospects of the ICAC to serve as venue for resolving disputes over the compensation of damages caused by the russian aggression as well as during the time of Ukraine’s restoration and future sustainable development.
The Readings will be held off-line in Kyiv supported by a live online broadcast. The language of the Readings 2022 will be Ukrainian only. No simultaneous translation into English will be available.
